News

Orton church has recently installed a ringing floor in the tower. The floor is glazed and the ringers can be seen from the body of the church. The bells have been overhauled and restored for ringing and for the moment they can be rung once a month on the morning of the Farmers' Market in Orton which is always the second Saturday in the month. Ringing is from 10.00 to 12.00.
This is a great opportunity to promote ringing to both locals and to the many visitors to the market who can buy tea, coffee, biscuits and home made scones in the church - and both hear and see the bells being rung. Please get in touch if you would like to come and ring the bells again after such a long period of silence; note - they are no longer a ground floor ring!.
