The A66, A595, A594 and A5086 converge at Cockermouth. Although the Spire is clearly visible from many parts of the town, getting to it requires a little local knowledge. Following the Town Centre directions from any of the main approach routes should hopefully bring you to a mini roundabout next to Wordsworth House. Continue along the Main Street, over the bridge over the river Cocker. Turn right into Market Place and immediately right into a 'pay and display' car park. Parking is available to the left and right of the entrance. They can get busy at weekends. The church is situated above the car parks.

Eating and Drinking
The town is well suppied with pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Most are on the Main Street, but on Kirkgate at the east end of the church you will find the Swan (the ringer's local, no food) and the Bitter End (food and micro brewery).
